Rules can change. This summary reflects the City of Pompano Beach bulk waste page as checked in November 2026. Part of the wider Palm Aire area is in Fort Lauderdale, so confirm which city serves your address.

If you live in a house, duplex or triplex

The city collects bulk once a week from single-family homes, duplexes and triplexes. Keep these limits in mind:

  • —The pile can be up to 4 cubic yards, about 6 ft by 4 ft by 4 ft.
  • —Place it within 5 feet of the curb line and no more than 10 feet from the street edge.
  • —Keep it at least 5 feet from a neighboring property.
  • —Keep it clear of storm drains, sidewalks, streets and utility meters.

If you live in a condo or apartment

The city's weekly schedule above doesn't list condos. It says multi-family properties may need an appointment for bulk collection. Start with your association or property manager, then contact the city at 954.786.4030 or Bulk@copbfl.com if needed.

If you have more than one pile

Residents can request up to two extra debris collections a year, up to 16 cubic yards each. They cover vegetative debris and household waste only, and you must schedule them before anything goes to the curb.

What the city won't collect as bulk

  • —Construction and demolition debris
  • —Large tree trunks, stumps and roots
  • —Automotive or marine parts
  • —Dirt, rocks, sand and sod
  • —Hazardous waste

Taking it yourself

Pompano Beach runs a residential drop-off station at 1840 NW 33rd Street on Saturdays from 7 AM to 3 PM. You need proof of residency, and it's for residential cars and pickup trucks only.

Don't let a pile sit

If a pile breaks the rules, the city says property owners get 48 hours to remove it or arrange an additional pickup.

When hiring help makes sense

A paid pickup is usually worth it when items are inside a condo, you can't move them, you have a deadline, or you don't want a pile at the curb. For those jobs, see condo junk removal or pricing.
